Time Team: Corinium, the second largest town in the whole of Roman Britain after Londinium. In 300 AD was a bustling wealthy city with a basilica and a forum , with many shops and wealthy people's houses . But, times have changed over the last 1700 years and now, this is the Gloucestershire town of Cirencester. Time Team are in gardens in Chester Street, to see how all this fitted into the Roman city plan, and to see if it connected in any way with the main Roman highway of Ermine Street . And also to see if there’s any truth in the rumour that nearby is the site of a pagan Roman temple.
