Recently divorced artist, Laura, lives a quiet life in Marin County. When she sees a news story about an apparent suicide, she discovers that the victim, Nathan, sat with her on the jury of The Midnight Murderer Trial - the trial of Evan Barber, one of San Francisco's most heinous serial killers. Writing a book about the case, Nathan had been investigating The Midnight Murderer Case on his own just before his death. Now she must discover the truth about Evan Barber before her number is up.
