Cloud Atlas

"Cloud Atlas" unfolds as a historical narrative set in the 1800s. Suddenly it morphs into a 20th century period piece. It's at turns a pensive drama, detective potboiler, action/adventure flick, political thriller, dark comedy, and pure sci-fi. Then it cycles back again. The plot continually interweaves all the above -- six multiple story lines, all set in different eras with different characters. The only thing connecting these apparently disparate narratives is one curious conundrum that stares the viewer in the face, "What does it all mean?"

Without question, Thor, X-Men First Class and now Captain America were/are the best movies of the summer. Nothing else has come close. If this summer movie season where the Olympics, I\'d say Cap took the gold. First Class grabbed the silver and Thor finished fractions out of first with the bronze. Pirates, Hangover 2, Super 8 and Transformers finished out of the money and Green Lantern came up lame and didn\'t even finish the race. It\'s been a great summer. Everyone might as well label it correctly… a MARVELous summer! I just loved Captain America. I thought it was smart and the impressive cast really delivered! This movie works on so many levels and makes you draw on just about all of your emotions. I don\'t remember when I enjoyed a movie this much!$

The supporting cast, especially Phyllis Smith and Thomas Lennon, is pitch-perfect and Justin Timberlake shows that he is more than just a pretty face. It\'s an easy and entertaining film that I\'d be happy to watch again. Yes, it\'s unrealistic at times and a little predictable but how many movies these days aren\'t? If you like comedies such as The Hangover, Eurotrip, Forgetting Sarah Marshall or anything by Judd Apatow you\'ll probably enjoy this. Now go see it!$

It was better then I expected back in 2006 when CARS made it\'s debut it was aimed at younger children like my son who was 2 years old when he saw it in the theatre and it captured his attention. Now my don id 7 years old and his youngest brother is 2 years old and we took them to see CARS 2. They LOVED IT. Cars 2 is not made for adults it is made for kids pure and simple but Cars 2 grew up with it\'s audience. the theme is the same it is about friendship and being there for your friends and This time it is also about not being afraid to be yourself. The Story is not complicated which is good because it is a kids movie after all and those should never be too complicated. There is more action in this one then the first one and maybe a better story in this one then the first. The only drawback is no Paul Newman who sadly died before he could take his part as Doc Hudson . But We did Get Michael Caine as Finn Mcmissile a secret agent in the James Bond mold. The magic continues. See it and make your mind up for yourself Pixar didn\'t stumble when they made this flick. They grew up and brought more of the magic with them for us to enjoy.$

Mr. Popper's Penguin

This is one of Jim Carrey\'s better films. Gone are the zany antics, off-the-wall humour and other annoying gestures. What you get is a wholesome family entertainment, coupled with a bunch of adorable penguins. When a busy father neglects his family for the sake of his career, it takes a gift from his own father to realise just what a terrible mistake he is making. That gift comes in the a brood of penguins who, for some reason, takes a liking to silent movies :) Finally, the father understands what family is all about. An excellent time for everyone. The children will be delighted, I guarantee.$

But I will say that Super 8 lives up to every bit of hype and expectation surrounding it.
